Designer Series Paper Special Release Dec 3^rd will be a big day in Stampin’ Up. There will be a special release of 3 popular papers, but this time around, the colors are different! SU loves to play with colors and take a fresh approach to crafting. And they’ve done just that with a special release of three Designer Series Papers. These papers are returning favorites with a twist: They are recolored! Serene Love is recolored from True Love, Refreshed Beauty is recolored from Blackberry Beauty and Shades and Hues is recolored from Color Theory.

Be ready to make 2 beautiful cards!  We will be having fun with CHANGING LEAVES and QUIET REFLECTIONS! Yes, I know I said Trucking Along, but I really want to share how to do this fabulous Stained-Glass technique with you, and Changing Leaves suits it so nicely!

Card #1: The Stained-Glass Technique with Changing Leaves!! Oh, how I wish the glistening ‘stained glass’ leaves showed up in the photo! It is soooooo pretty! I have not received the Autumn paper yet, which will go on the middle panel (yes, this is a card in a card!) nor have I received the embellishments I am planning to put on the frame, but the tracking shows it will be here in time for class 😊 I know, I know, but y’all are going to love this technique! My classes are, after all, more about new techniques or interesting folds than designing a gorgeous card. I *will* get this pic updated as soon as I receive the materials!

Card #2: Water coloring with Quiet Reflections… Card #1 is not difficult at all, but it is a tiny bit more time consuming, so this second card is a quick and easy card full of texture and beauty. We haven’t done a sympathy card in a while, and it is always a nice type of card to have on hand. If you prefer a different sentiment, just let me know!

Oh, WOW! New WOW Embossing Powders! What you NEED to know...

Whoo - Hoo! Stampin' Up! is now carrying WOW! Embossing Powders! What makes these so WOW is not just their awesome meltability and shine, but they are ANTI-STATIC! That's right! The powders *and* their containers are double treated to be anti-static. 

Being anti-static means if you forget to use your Embossing Buddy, it *should* be okay and the powder shouldn't stick where you don't want it.

However, Anti-Static doesn't mean that they are anti-moisture so if you handle your work, oils in your hands will transfer to the Cardstock, thus creating a base for the powder to stick to, so we do still want to use our Stampin' Buddy if we think about it. Try to handle your cardstock from the sides. 

The WOW! company also strongly recommends that you don't decant the powders as the jars are treated to be anti-static. For the same reason, they also recommend only ever using metal spoons/scoops when working with the powders, rather than plastic.

Also, you may notice little teensy tiny white balls in your embossing powder. They add a couple of special products to their powders which make them perform so much better than the other powders on the market. 

The white balls are formed when they remove moisture from the powder (that is a good thing, I guess). This is nothing to worry about, it is perfectly normal and just a part of what makes WOW! powders so fantastic!  

When you heat the product the white balls just disappear and will not affect the finish.
