 (Drumroll, please) The Great Cycle Challenge has begun! YES! My month-long cycling challenge fundraiser for the Children's Cancer Research Fund began yesterday, Sept 1! I spent almost 4 hours of my Labor Day pedaling to make a little dent in my 200 miles goal. I did 48.5 miles yesterday and 9 miles this evening, so I am a little better than 20% done towards my mileage goal. The BEST news, however, is I am creeping towards my $2500. fundraising goal! Want to help put a dent in the $$ goal? 20% of the cost of all KITS you buy from MY SITE, all year long, goes towards my fundraiser! Of course, you can always make a tax-deductible donation. SALE!! The Stampin' Write markers are being discontinued and are now in the LAST CHANCE LIST

SU has introduced a Black Journaling .04 Pen (item #166647) which may take the place of the Basic Black marker if you use that one for writing in your cards.

Remember, the red rubber stamps are also being phased out. Check out my previous blog post for all the info about that but keep an eye out for the new packaging! Especially excited that the DIES WILL HAVE PRINTED ARTWORK ON THE PACKAGING FOR QUICK AND EASY IDENTIFICATION!! AND the new packaging will allow all images to be printed at 100% size! 

Starting in November, we can purchase stamp and die organizers, in packs of ten, to easily transition our current cling stamps to the updated packaging, making it super easy to store our beloved products with the new ones. Item # will be 167772, and cost $16.00 per pack of 10. The current storage boxes (item #119105) which we can purchase will continue to be available for the foreseeable future. There are no current plans to discontinue those at this time.

New Stampin' News!

 Hello, Sweet Stampin' Friends!

Well, if time does anything, it causes things to change and Stampin' Up! has some changes ahead! Some are awesome and the others, maybe not quite so awesome. Bittersweet news first so we can end on a high note.

If you love your Stampin' Write Markers, be sure you have reinkers handy because the Stampin' Write Markers are being discontinued!! The Stampin' Write Markers will move into LAST CHANCE on AUGUST 20, 2025!! TOMORROW!! Since the introduction of the Stampin' Blends, the sale of the markers has decreased steadily. Don't know how to refill your markers? I did a video showing how, several years ago. I will link it HERE     SU has introduced a Black Journaling .04 Pen (item #166647) which may take the place of the Basic Black marker if you use that one for writing in your cards.

The other reason the markers will be leaving is SU change #2. The primary, unique function of the markers is to color directly onto the red rubber stamps. Well, read on.

The red rubber Cling Stamps will be discontinued!!  Yep. The Cling Stamps (red rubber) will be phased out. The current offerings in the Annual catalog will be available through April, when they will be moved into Last Chance. None will be transitioned to photopolymer, but most are nearing the end of their natural cycle anyway, The Cling Stamps in the brand-new Sept - Dec mini catalog will be available and move into Last Chance in Jan. Beginning in Nov, all stamps listed in the Online Exclusives section will be photopolymer. Why?  There are key raw materials which are getting very difficult to find, and some necessary raw materials are no longer being manufactured at all!! The wide range of Photopolymer stamps will support our various artistic styles and techniques. 

NOW FOR THE HAPPY NEWS!!! 

Stamp and die packaging will be updated. The photopolymer stamps are thinner, so will be moved into sleeker, slimmer packaging which will take up less storage room! Our current photopolymer stamps will gradually be transitioned to the new packaging as the SU inventory is refreshed. The current dies will not be transitioned into new packaging.

The stamps and dies will be in the same size and style of packaging, making it even easier to store them, especially together!! The new and improved packaging is similar to the current die packaging - those very sturdy, durable clear plastic envelopes. Unfortunately, because they *are* slimmer, the names and images of the stamp sets will not be printed on the spine. 

And now, drumroll please, the DIES WILL HAVE PRINTED ARTWORK ON THE PACKAGING FOR QUICK AND EASY IDENTIFICATION!!!! YaHOO!! How many times do we open die set after die set, looking for the one random shape we want for a random project? THIS is so exciting to me! Of course, stamp sets will continue to have imaging on the packaging. The new packaging will allow all images to be printed at 100% size!

We all missed our wood mounted stamps for a minute, and I am sure we will miss the Cling Stamps, but we all know how much easier it is to line up stamps when that stamp is clear! It will be okay. As for the markers, remember the Blends bleed through cardstock, so prepare for the layering ahead!

Stampin' Saturday Aug 23! Cards (and coffee) starts at 11:00

Stampin' Saturday will be Aug 23! Join the fun starting at 11:00, at my house! I did have to change the cards up a bit... the 2 designs I planned would have taken too long to complete by 2:00, so we will do a simpler 'guy card' this time, but I promise you it is still a great design! 😉

Card #1 features the Storybook Garden Patch, and this card lacks nothing! Embossing folders, sponging, veggies, ribbon and embellishments, all layered with a bit of his favorite "flannel" 😁

Card #2 is a gorgeous technique I cannot wait to share with you!!! We will be using the Glass Mat to start the magic! Next, an embossing folder and a wave of either the magic wand aka blending brush or a swipe with the ink pad, and *voila!* Isn't this magical?? Add some embossing powder, a flower from Gallery Blooms and the sentiments from Sweet Blooms and we are done! Isn't this just gorgeous!

    

Please let me know by Friday, Aug 22 that you are coming so I can have your materials ready!

Sept is only 1 month away! Time for my annual Great Cycle Challenge Fundraiser for the Children's Cancer Research Fund!! 

My fundraising goal this year is $2500. and my mileage total goal is 200 miles. I donate 20% (the regular demonstrator discount/commission amount) of the cost of all kits, including Paper Pumpkin kits sold from my site to my fundraiser! I add to the balance all year and make the total donation in September!  Historically there has been a Match Day (Kick Cancer's Butt Day), so I like to drop it in my fundraiser on that date. It hasn't been announced yet if there will be one this year, so fingers crossed they find sponsors!

SIXTH: Stampin' Saturday is changing weeks for August! 

I know we are used to third Saturday Stamping, but I will be out of town that weekend, so we will be stamping on the FOURTH SATURDAY, Sat, Aug 23! 

Out first card is a really fun Fun Fold, that I think will be my go-to guy's card this year! They love mechanical things, so this is a card that will delight and impress, for sure!  The papers used for card class will vary slightly.

Our second card is an exciting twist on an old favorite, using the Sunflower embossing folder!! 

(Pics and a reel of the designs are on the way - I have been out of town a LOT, lately.)

July Stampin' Saturday, Stamp By Mail, Scrapbooking and MORE!

Card #1 - a Rolled Front card! Yes, it goes flat to mail 😁 This card is a tad bit larger than normal, 5 x 7, so be prepared to make your own envelope. We are using the charming Charming Day Bundle (stamp set and dies) PLUS the Floral Charm Designer Series Paper. The Scoring Tool makes it easy-peasy to create the rolled front for depth and that WOW factor! This is a design you will use for every big celebration!

                                            

Card #2 - The stamp set Peaceful View is a view I just love! If you have been stamping with me for a while you know I love inking skies! Card #2 is gorgeous! We will be inking our sky, then heat embossing our image! Never inked a sky? It is so much fun!! No 2 will ever be exactly alike, just like no sunset is ever an exact do over, but *all* of them make you sigh with satisfaction.

Can't make it on the 21st but want to create these cards? STAMP BY MAIL!! $10 for 1 and $15 for both! You will receive all of the papers and cardstock cut and scored, all stamping done, embellishments, and dimensionals  (NO OTHER ADHESIVES WILL BE INCLUDED) plus detailed directions so you can put your projects together. I will put all of your materials in the mail to you the Monday following class, and text or email (your preference) the tracking number. Payment is accepted via Zelle or Paypal (teachph@aol.com) as Friends and Family *only* please.

Stampin' Saturday May 17!

 Join in the Stampin' fun 11:00 Saturday, May 17!! We will be making 2 special projects and all I ask is $5.00 *or* an order!!  RSVPs are required so I can have your materials ready Please let me know by May 16 that you will join the fun! First time? Directions to my house will be sent once you RSVP.

Project #1 is a TEA TOWER! That is right! Y'all know I love making boxes (after all, we have made at least 3 different kinds!) Take a look at this one. It is a lovely piece to keep your teabags handy - or - a gorgeous gift! This tower will hold an entire box of Bigelow tea bags! If you want to add ribbon, of course you may!  PLUS, you will make your own box top shim to keep forever and ever so you never have to 'smoosh' a box again to get the top on. Every top you make will fit perfectly! IYKYK

                   

Project #2 is an Origami Card! The origami centerpiece unfolds to reveal a hidden message, and the panel untucks from the lobster claw for your main message. I just love this fun ocean themed card, but this card is a jaw dropper regardless of the theme! BONUS – the origami section is a perfect place to tuck a check or some green money! (fun aside- I made this style card for my daughters for Mothers Day, using Storybook Suite. My oldest glanced at me, then pulled a corner free and found her check and hidden message. She mentioned she received a ‘store-bought’ card from her little ones. The card had a ribbon which she kept pulling to see what happens. Her husband told her it was just a Hallmark card, not one of “Nonna’s”. The ribbon was useless. BWAHAHAHAHA!!) The Storybook Suite, with those adorable die cuts ... or a lovely floral theme... Make it masculine!  THIS is a fun fold you will use time and time again!
